MCP Modified Citrus Pectin Powder (360g)

Immune System Support

web-MCPMCP (modified citrus pectin) is a complex polysaccharide obtained from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits.

A recent Chinese hospital-based study used MCP for lead chelation in children. The abstract of the study states: "Lead toxicity is an ongoing concern worldwide, and children, the most vulnerable to the long-lasting effects of lead exposure, are in urgent need of a safe and effective heavy metal chelating agent to overcome the heavy metals and lead exposure challenges they face day to day... This study showed a significant decrease in blood serum levels of lead (P = .0016; 161% average change over controls) and a dramatic increase in 24-hour urine collection (P = .0007; 132% average change over controls)" (Zhao et al., 2008).

Our clinical experience in adults with mercury shows approximately 60% reductions of body burdens over an approximately six-month period using MCP. It is a mild-acting heavy metal chelator suitable for all ages.

In addition, ongoing Columbia University studies show that MCP inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells in a time and dose-dependent manner (Yan & Katz, 2010). The mechanism by which MCP affects cancer cells is by binding to galectin-3 adhesion molecules on their surface, thereby inhibiting cancer cells from adhering and forming a cluster, a property that experimentally reduces metastases (Glinsky & Raz, 2009). More research is needed on the benefits in humans, however.
